WW1 Royal Navy Bicorn Hat

A First World War Royal Navy officers bicorn hat with original toleware tin case.

The hat is made from moleskin with a pleated silk cockade and gold bullion coil to the centre, held on with a Kings Crown button. The inside has a leather sweatband with white silk lining.

19th Century Naval Bosuns Persuader

A good example of an early 19th century naval bosuns persuader. A ‘persuader’ was used by senior non commissioned naval officers (often the ships bosun) to keep sailors in line and to press-gang those men that were unwilling to join the service.

This example is made with a central shaft of malacca and is weighted at each end with lead which is bound in fine thread.

A WW2 Japanese Army Officers ‘Hango’ or mess / rice cooker set. The aluminium set comprises of the main mess tin, small tray insert and lid. This is a later war example without the metal carry handle.
