19th Century Zulu Knobkerry
A late 19th century South African Zulu knobkerry. The traditional Zulu weapon is made from one piece of African hardwood and has a shaft length of 50 cm. The base of the shaft has a slight palm swell and the head has a diameter of 7 cm.
Good condition with fantastic patina and shows signs of significant age.

A WW2 Imperial Japanese Army service bag or ‘Houkou Bukuro’. The Houkou Bukuro was issued to all servicemen and was used to carry all military documentation and paraphernalia.
This example is named to a ‘Suekichi Ueda’.

A WW2 Imperial Japanese Army Going To War Banner (Shussei Nobori). The silk banner shows the Imperial Japanese Army star with the crossed national and war flags of Japan above a hand written message.
The hand written message reads ‘Congratulations Expedition’ and was gifted to a soldier named ‘Kazuyoshi Onishi’.

A WW2 Japanese Type 4 hand grenade. The Type 4 hand grenade was a last ditch weapon produced at the later stages of WW2.
The Type 4 is also known as the “ceramic grenade” because it was made of porcelain or terracotta. These were materials which could be found at the end of the war when more traditional grenade materials were in short supply.

A post war British military penknife. Date stamped 1956 and made by J.H. Thompson of Sheffield. The knife has a main blade (2.5”), marlin spike and a can / bottle opener.
The words ‘OIL THE JOINTS’ are stamped and the penknife body along with a military broad arrow and stores ref ‘446’.
