WW2 Japanese Houkou Bukuro
A WW2 Imperial Japanese Army service bag or ‘Houkou Bukuro’. The Houkou Bukuro was issued to all servicemen and was used to carry all military documentation and paraphernalia.
The small green hessian bag has the Imperial Japanese military zig-zag symbol across the top below the drawstring.
The reverse of the bag has a list of the official contents to be carried in it. The list includes:
1. Military Paybook (guntai techo), Medals and Decorations
2. Certificates of Qualifications, Military Specialist Certificates.
3. Draft or call up papers.
4. Other items: savings books etc.
The bag is in good condition with no holes and has its original drawstring.
Measurements are 30 cm tall by 23 cm wide.
